Summer Camps

for

Middle and High School Students
What?The Dept. of Math and Computer Science @ VSU organized week-long Computing Summer Camps for middle and high school students in Summer 2010 and 2011. In these camps, campers created robots, Android apps, animations, games, and digital arts/crafts.

When?
Middle School Camp: July 16 - July 20 (Activities: Lego robots and Android apps)
High School Camp: July 23 - July 27 (Activities: Lego robots and Android apps)


Who is eligible?
Middle School Camp: Uprising 6th. through uprising 8th. graders.
High School Camp: Uprising 9th. through uprising 12th. graders.

Camps limited to 20 spots; Apply early

Early Application (before April 30th)

Several Discounts Available
Sibling discount: $10 per camper
Refer a friend discount: $10 per friend (conditions apply - please see the following bullet-points)
  • A camper will get this discount only if the friend is accepted to the camp
  • Limited to two discounts per camper
  • The referring camper's parent must send an email to kroy@valdosta.edu informing about the referral
  • Camper's receiving sibling discount can refer max. one friend
General Information
  • Camps runs from 8.30 am to 4.00 pm
  • Camps will be supervised by two Math/CS faculty members and one undergraduate student assistant
  • Camps will meet at VSU campus
  • Lunch and snacks will be provided
  • Campers will get a camp t-shirt
  • Recreational activities will be arranged on several afternoons
  • There will be a presentation/demo session at the end of each camp (Friday afternoon) where parents and family will get to see the camper's creations
  • Each camp limited to 20 students

VSU Baseball Camps

Ages Rising High School Junior, Seniors and 2012 Graduate; Junior College Sophomores

A pro-style workout and live pitcher/batter match-ups. Provides a great opportunity for prospective student-athletes to display their abilities to the Blazer Baseball staff, while continuing to develop and hone their skills.

Monday-Thursday, June 10

Ages 7-12
$180, includes lunch and a t-shirt
All-around camp for players of all skill levels. Focus is on the "five tools" of professional baseball players - throwing, catching, base-running, hitting for average and hitting for power. Learn techniques and drills, play games and improve your skills and earn prizes.

Come join the Valdosta State University 2007 National Championship Football program Youth Football Camp. Head Coach David Dean and his staff are putting on the 4th annual youth football camp at Valdosta State. This will give boys and girls ages 5-13 a chance to learn basic fundamentals of playing the game of football. The Valdosta State coaching staff will teach all positions.



The Camp will run Tuesday, May 29 through Friday, June 1. All campers will report on Tuesday, May 29 at 8:00 am at the Athletic Fieldhouse at 605 W Mary St.  Pre-registration is encouraged at the Athletic Fieldhouse Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm The cost will be $100 per camper. Each camper will receive a Valdosta State Football Tee-shirt.

Community Day!

April 28th from 11:00-3:00: 4th annual COMMUNITY DAY! FREE Food, Concerts, Games, and Medical Screenings!! Come and join us for a day of fun! The total events, including food, drinks, sweets, concerts, booths, haircuts, and medical screening are at no cost to all participants. Free concerts will be going on all throughout the day. Also, at no cost to all participants, will be festival like games and booths, for children and free Medical screenings (dental, vision, and health) for children and adults by trained professional individuals. Vitamins and reading glasses will be given away. Location: Norman Drive, Across from Sam’s and Walmart.

If your child has ever dreamed of being on Broadway one day or just enjoys being the center of attention and the joy of being on stage or needs to boost their self-confidence, this camp is for your child!!

Campers will be divided into groups according to age, and will learn scenes from  
"Alice in Wonderland"  
&  
"Footloose"  

The week will end with a group performance for parents and friends on Friday, May 25th for 6:30pm.

Join us May 21st thru May 25th from 8:30am to 12:30pm each day. Early Drop-Off is available beginning at 8:00am. Late Pick-Up is at 1:00pm. Each STAR will need to bring his/her own snack each day.

The camp is available to ages 3 to 18.

Camp will be at Mathis Auditorium on  
Ashley Street in Valdosta. 

Cost: $100.00 per child and $50 for each additional sibling. Registration Deadline: Friday, May 18th.

Broadway Camp

LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION...BROADWAY CAMP!



Our Broadway campers will be exposed to the triple-threat experiences of the musical including ACTING, SINGING and DANCING...all taught within a one-week camp.

Broadway Camp will introduce young people, boys and girls, to the world of life on-stage and behind the scenes. Training in acting, scene study, improvisation, solo and ensemble singing, movement and dance make up the class work.

If your child has ever dreamed of being on Broadway one day or just enjoys being the center of attention and the joy of being on stage or needs to boost their self-confidence, this camp is for your child!!

The 17-1/2 hour camp also includes a photo shoot, each participant will receive their own headshot on a Disc, and a 8x10 Picture. Campers will be divided into groups according to age, and will learn scenes from "Alice in Wonderland".

The week will end with a group performance for parents and friends on Friday, May 25th at 7pm.

Join us May 21st through May 25th from 8:30am to 12:30pm each day.  
Early Drop-Off is available beginning at 8:00am. Each STAR will need to bring his/her own snack each day. The first camp will be help at Mathis Auditorium. 

The camp is available to ages 4 to 18.
