Downtown Valdosta Farm Days

The City of Valdosta and the Valdosta Main Street Program are pleased to announce Downtown Valdosta Farm Days in downtown Valdosta. The market will be held every other Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the
Courthouse Square
in Downtown Valdosta from May 7 through September 17.   We invite everyone to come out and support local agriculture and buy direct from area farmers while shopping at Downtown Valdosta Farm Days. The market features producers from the surrounding areas of Lowndes County offering fresh fruit, vegetables, plants, meats, cheeses, soaps and so much more.

We have a link to Farm Days on our website www.valdostamainstreet.com and also a facebook fan page Downtown Farm Days Facebook Page
Also, here is a link to the email blast about what to expect this Saturday, feel free to sign up for it: What's Happening this Saturday at Farm Days.

Hope to see you this Saturday…and every other Saturday until September 17!

Silverwood Farm CSA

For those of you who are interested in locally/organically grown vegetables:

Hello all! At one point or another, you have contacted us concerning our CSA full of locally/organically grown goodness. I wanted to send out a quick e-mail and let everyone know where we are concerning the CSA. When we first started thinking about the idea, there were no farmer's markets in our area that would allow normal people to go sell. Due to some very great people, we now have one! Starting this Saturday, May 7, 2011 there will be a locally grown farmers market with people selling conventional and organically grown items grown only by themselves at the square in Valdosta from 9 AM - 1 PM. This will happen every first and third Saturday.. This is something we are very excited about and hope to see every single one of you there. With the option of the market available, we have decided to give it a little while longer before we start our CSA. We will have a booth at the market in Valdosta and are still planning on the CSA however we do understand that some people were interested only because there wasn't a source for fresh locally grown vegetables. Our CSA, when started, will be every second and fourth Saturday as a supplement to the market for the weeks that it is not open or it may even be enough so that you do not have to go out to the market. If you can make it to the market this Saturday, please stop by and say hello! We will have a sheet for people to put there contact info it they are still interested in the CSA or you can e-mail me back and I will let you know as soon as we are about to start it. It may be exceptionally soon depending on response. Thank you for your interest. Matt
