Vegetable Co-op

A friend sent this to me a few days ago. I have not used this company before, but it sounds very interesting! The way our CSA will work is that roughly a bushel of vegetables averaging 8 different vegetables (with hopes of being more on most offerings with fresh herbs added in occasionally) will be delivered to a pre-set drop point per week or bi-weekly at a pre-set time. There will be a two hour window as to when you can pick your vegetables up. The cost is $25 per offering (every week or every other week depending on your requests) with all vegetables offered being grown following all USDA national organic program rules. Most offerings are priced well below grocery store organic pricing with most being below conventional pricing as well. If you are still interested in our CSA, could you please e-mail me your contact information so that I may contact you when we are closer to the opening with the exact details of times, payment, drop days, etc. If you know of anyone else that may want to participate, could you please ask them to contact me so that I may contact them before the actual start date also? Parents Night Out - FBC; 2/11

Zumbathon - 2/11

Zumbathon February 11th from 6 to 8pm. YMCA / 2424 Gornto Rd. / 229-244-4646 Fundraiser for the American Heart Association; tickets are only $5.00. Anyone is invited...you don't have to be a member of the Y to come. The Youth and Teen center will be open and we will have a Kids Night Out at the same time. Put the description & size in the middle of the card. 5. Put the price in the BOTTOM RIGHT hand corner. 6. Clothing items should be hung on hangers with “hook” facing the left when held in front of you. 7. Jeans/pants/bloomers should be secured to hangers with safety pins and/or to matching tops. (This is the only exception to safety pins. DO NOT use them to attach index cards!) 8. Toy items should be bagged securely & taped shut with tag on outside. 9. On Big Items, your seller number should be marked on the bottom with a permanent marker. Use strong, clear packing tape to secure your tag. (Scotch tape is not strong enough). 10. Shoes should be placed in Ziploc bags when they will fit, otherwise, tie shoe strings together or buckle shoes in pairs. 11. Inspect twice for stains-check knees, crotch, bottom, sleeves, collar, neck. PLEASE DON'T BRING ANYTHING WITH STAINS. WE WILL BE CLOSELY CHECKING EACH ITEM. Please be considerate of other consignors and DOUBLE CHECK!!!!! Items to be accepted: Gently worn SPRING & SUMMER clothing items sizes NB thru Jr's Sizes; Formal & Special Occasion Wear; Baby Clothing & Items(car seats, bouncers, exersaucers, high chairs, etc.); Children's Furniture/Equipment; Playsets; Ride-on Toys; Videos/DVDs/Video Games and systems; Toys (without small pieces); Books; Children's shoes (max 3 pr); NO SOCKS OR UNDERWEAR. Friends, For those of you who know me, you know I LIKE a good sale. Right now JC Penny's in Valdosta, has a great sale on stocking stuffer type toys. 80% off lots of fun junk kids love! These items are located in the section near the dishes/housewares. Still a good bit of neat things left; not as much as before I went there! Also, The Children's Place @ the Mall has their 50% off their sale price going on! Lots of sweatshirts and polo style shirts left. I didn't really check out the girls stuff! Sorry, I was not around during the Holidays, but I did hear from quite a few people on how much they enjoy the blog - even a few men! I was excited fathers are checking out the website too! Hopefully, I can get back into the swing of things! If you think of anything that needs to be posted, let me know!

Valdosta-Lowndes YMCA Kids Night Out every third Friday of every month. It starts at 6pm and ends at 9pm. The kids play games and eat pizza or Chic-fil-a. It is $10.00 for each child if you are a member and if not it is $15. 2424 Gornto Rd. 229-244-4646

Spanish Classes

Just wanted you all to know (and pass on) that there will be elementary level Spanish classes available this spring Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:40-4:30 in the Canterbury House, next to and a part of the Christ Episcopal Church in front of VSU on Patterson. Classes will begin Tuesday January 17. There is a class for 4-7 year olds and one for 8-12 year olds. The cost is $10 per week for the 1st child and $5 per week for the second child. Snacks and materials are provided. Classes are taught by VSU Spanish Education majors. Again they will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:40-4:30 in the Canterbury House, next to and a part of the Christ Episcopal Church in front of VSU on Patterson.
