Harlem Globetrotter's
This is NOT a free event; however, it does sound like a lot of fun! Don't forget to purchase your tickets! They are going quick!
http://www.vstateblazers.com/news/2011/1/7/MBB_0107111337.aspx
The Harlem Globetrotters are coming to Valdosta and will put on their world famous show at The Complex on Tuesday, March 8 at 7 p.m.
The Globetrotters, who have contributed more innovations to the game of basketball than any other team in history, have implemented the first-ever 4-point shot as part of all of its games on the team's 2011 "4 Times the Fun" North American tour.
This game-changing innovation will be on display when the Globetrotters take on the Washington Generals in Valdosta.
Throughout the 2011 North American tour, every Globetrotters game will now feature two designated 4-point shooting spots on each side of midcourt, each located 35 feet from the basket (the spots are 12 feet beyond the NBA's official three-point line). The 4-point option is expected to further open up the playing floor for the Globetrotters as well as their opponents, the Generals, and is expected to generate even more high-scoring action and competitive play.
"I only wish they had this shot when I was playing," said Globetrotter Legend Curley Neal, one of only five Globetrotters in history to have his jersey number retired. "I could have lit up that scoreboard all night long."
Tickets for the event will be on sale at the Valdosta State ticket office until March 6. Prices for the family friendly event are as follows:
$35 – Reserved Sections A-E and H
$24 – Lower Bowl Opposite of Team Benches and Mezzanine Seating
$17 – End Zone Bleacher Seating Behind Each Goal
For reserved sections, mezzanine seating and lower bowl seating, anyone can enter the code "VDT" when ordering online to receive $4 off per ticket on up to six tickets. For those phoning in or stopping by the Blazer Ticket Office, just mention the code to receive the discount. Act now because the discount ends at midnight January 31.
Just contact the Blazer Ticket Office to claim your seat today. The ticket office can be reached by phone at (229) 333-SEAT (7328) or email at tickets@valdosta.edu.
